“Candid” is my latest short as an editor and grader. Written and directed by Nicholas Paton the film tells the story of a photographer who in the course of one day experiences feelings of love, betrayal and loss, leading to a climax in which her inner life merges with the medium of photography. Since there is very little dialogue, the film posed a complex narrative challenge – the story had to be told through editing, color and music.
